What kind of mouthpiece should I use for a bugle horn?

I just bought a bugle horn but it came with out a mouthpiece and unfortunatly I can't find any such thing as a bugle horn mouthpiece! Should I use a trumpet mouthpiece or maybe a flugelhorn mouthpiece?

What kind of mouthpiece should I use for a bugle horn?
My guess would be that a cornet mouthpiede would fit better. I would take it to a music store and try fitting mouthpieces to it. They might not want you blowing through them until you buy one, but they shouldn't object to trying the fit in your horn.

But I would not try a French horn mouthpiece or anything from another family. Good luck.
Reply:It's very unusual to find a bugle without a mouthpiece and sometimes the mouthpiece are kind of a special order deal. If the bugle will take a standard trumpet mouthpiece, you are in luck. If not, you will have to take it to your local music store and have them special order one for you. Make sure you have them put the mouthpiece in the bugle and test it before you pay, because they would love to sell you a few mouthpieces if they could, and if you take it home and try it out, they will seldom take it back (samitary issues you know)

You might also find a bugle moutpiece online, but then you have that whole return problem to deal with again.

What would make my car's horn blow by itself and the ac compressor not work?

My car's horn started sounding on it's own for about 3 minutes long after it has been tooted. Also, my ac compressor suddenly stopped working.

What would make my car's horn blow by itself and the ac compressor not work?
two different problems most likely not related.. the horn deal is likely a problem under the pad on the wheel where spring tension has been lost allowing the contacts to stick together. the a/c may just have lost enough refridgerant to drop system pressure under minimum for compressor to turn on
Reply:Maybe demons? Take it to a garage, people on here can only guess without actually looking under the hood.
Reply:Your horn is actuated by a horn button. It completes the circut to the horn, so I would figure your horn button has a problem where it will not release the button to cut the circut. You need a new button.

Your A/C compressor doesn't work because you need A/C freon.

You can get a recharge kit to install 134-A freon at the local auto parts store for around forty bucks or so.

It has easy to understand instructions and a CD inside the box to help you do it yourself.

How do u change pitches/ play the french horn?

I use to play clarinet but when the teacher say they needed frech horn player I decide to change to french horn. I pratice for about 3 days and I am not getting any better, and every time I play I have no ideas what note I am playing. HELP!!

How do u change pitches/ play the french horn?
For a warm-up, get used to where the F on the first space is, and what it sounds like. Use it as a reference to find your place when you get lost.

I usually play F, G, A, Bb, C, D, E, F to warm-up.

Later I do this:

FGF FAF F Bb F Fc F FdF FeF

It let's me hear my beginning note, and then I gradually go higher.

If you are in band and the saxaphones have the same music you do, often you can try to match yourself with them.

It took me a good 2 months when I first began to be able to play easy songs, and the scale I wrote for you above.

The key to playing the french horn is a lot to do with good ears. Can you hear the notes you need to play.

I might even take out your mouthpiece and buzz the notes before you put the mouthpiece back in. Just get used to how it feels. Your lips should be pursed at the corners of your mouth and your corners should stretch to the side.

If you want to play higher notes, use faster air and blow it down, NOT more pressure.

If you want to play lower notes, use a little slower air, and blow toward the middle of the mouthpiece and loosen the corners of your mouth.

Also, it may be easier for you if your school has a double french horn (Bb Horn), that way when you change notes, the notes are easier to find, because the partials are further apart.
Reply:There should be a fingering chart in your book.

Changing to a higher range would require that you tighten your embouchure.

Fingering chart:

Embouchure: the looser you purse your lips, the lower the notes you will be playing. The tighter you purse your lips, the higher the notes you will be playing.
Reply:Horn is notoriously hard to play because the overtone series is so close together. I would suggest that you play the instrument with someone playing the notes for you on piano or another instrument (make sure they transpose) so that you can match pitch with them and get used to what the notes should sound like on the horn.

What fuse to I pull to make the horn stop working for a 97 Ford contour?

I have a diagram of the fuse box from Ford. It does not indicate which fuse works the horn. I was in an accident and the air bags deployed, now everytime I start the car the horn is blasting and I need to shut it off.

What fuse to I pull to make the horn stop working for a 97 Ford contour?
You could also locate the actual horn in the engine compartment and pull the wire off it to keep it from working. The trouble with removing the fuse is that the same fuse powers other things that you don't want to turn off.
Reply:It would be under horn or courtesy lamps. Also check lighter fuse. Consult your owners manual if those dont work or you dont have one.
Reply:Disconnect the wire from the horn and it won"t be honking.
Reply:unplug the horn(s) untill you can fix the car

How old are unicorns when they first begin growing their horns, and what do they use them for?

That is the cutest question I ever answered! I don't know what they use them for but I do know that they are born with it, it is just small and it starts growing when they are about 15, very much like puberty except that they call it unicoberty! =)

The horns start growing at about age 3 and when mature, the unicorn uses the horn to capture and kill humans, their favorite food.

That's why there has never been a report of a human seeing a unicorn. The human was eaten after being skewered.
Reply:Unicorns are mythical.
Reply:They would grow like other horned animals after birth.

Mythically it could only be tamed by a virgin and the horn neutralised poison.
Reply:calves start right away so I'm guessing unicorns do too.
