Do male rhino horns have special medicine values that give power to sexually weak human beings?

imean there is some belief esp in east countries that rhino horns grounded into powder can provide power to sexually weak men when taken in a liquid like water. who can shed some light on this issue?

Do male rhino horns have special medicine values that give power to sexually weak human beings?
Only if the person doesn%26#039;t feel %26quot;horny%26quot;.

I don%26#039;t know, but I don%26#039;t think it should help, because any horn is made up of keratin (a protein found in the hair, %26amp; of which the dead layer of skin is made).

Moreover, please don%26#039;t indulge in this since, it%26#039;s cruel. Rhino population is on a decline %26amp; it%26#039;s only because of these superstitious beliefs that they r being poached.

Don%26#039;t take offence, but u think eating hair or licking skin is going to improve some1%26#039;s sexual prowess?

Bye. Take care.
Reply:What kind of crack are you smokin%26#039;?
Reply:No. There is no truth to this claim. Desperate men have been trying all sorts of outlandish things for years - rhino horns, tiger penis tea, etc. But it%26#039;s nonsense. The reasoning is based on simple substitution fantasy - %26quot;The rhino%26#039;s horn is firm and erect, pointing upwards. I want my penis to be the same way. Therefore, if I consume rhino%26#039;s horn, I will achieve the same myself.%26quot; Biochemistry, unfortunately, does not respond to this logic.

Anyway, now we have Viagra. Leave the poor rhinos alone. We%26#039;ve already killed enough of them over this absurdity.
Reply:One word.

NO!

Pure superstition. It%26#039;s hard and straight. Sympathetic magic says like attracts like.

You believe that?
Reply:It%26#039;s always the horn that makes us horny (seriously that%26#039;s where the term %26quot;me so horny%26quot; comes from- the horns- of a ram or bull in european folklore symbolized fertility whereas the horn of the rhino in african legend symbolized masculine sexual fortitude- then there%26#039;s the horn of the mythical unicorn thought to have healing properties of its own- ultimately the horn has always and will always be a phallic symbol)

It was rumored for a while that ground up rhino horn (essentially made of keratin) was used Traditional Chinese Medicine as an aphrodisiac. This was never the case (never found a rhino horn in any eastern medicine text that used it for this purpose). However, these eastern medicine practitioners did often use it to bring a fever down- so maybe a way to make your theory work is it cures men of fevers (fevers make them weaker) so that they will have their fortitude restored to pursue endeavors that require their renewed stamina (woo sex!).

I can%26#039;t imagine this practice being a very popular one now with the whole rhino poaching ban (since they are endangered species) and ahh modern medicine.
Reply:so the chinese say... but theres no proof
Reply:No no no no no! NEVER trust anything like that. Even if it were true (which it isn%26#039;t), there is no excuse for further endangering an already critically endangered animal.

Think back to the Medieval Ages.

TOOTHACHE: Take a candle and burn it close to the tooth. The worms that are gnawing the tooth will fall out into a cup of water held by the mouth.

INSANITY: Wear a bag with buttercups hung around your neck.

PLAGUE: Put a dead chicken on the sores.

Would you follow these cures?
Reply:As if! This belief is limited mainly to China, and similar Asian countries that believe in Chinese medicine. And its tiger bones that are used for aphrodisiacs

Quoting wikipedia,

...One repeated fallacy is that rhinoceros horn in powdered form is used as an aphrodisiac in Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is, in fact, prescribed for life-threatening fevers and convulsions...

Any how,

... A century ago, it is estimated there were over 100,000 tigers in the world; now numbers are down to below 2,500 mature breeding individuals, with no subpopulation containing more than 250 mature breeding individuals...

These chinese will soon be unable to get it up anymore, if they keep hunting down rhinos and tigers like that. They are even trying to get it ( trade in tiger and rhino parts) legalized internationally, but they seem to forget there are less than 2500 tigers left all over the world.

PS- Has anyone there heard of viagra?
Reply:It looks like a horn and primitive societies think it gives you the horn. Rhino horn is made of matted hair and you might as well eat your own - that will save the rhino and your barber%26#039;s bill. (But neither will help your sex life)
Reply:No that%26#039;s urban myth just like the grinded up tiger penis!
Reply:Why don%26#039;t you just let the bloody rhine keep his horns, how about we send round a herd of rinho%26#039;s to cut off your bits.
Reply:It does actually work. I lived in Kenya for a number of years and my home town specialised in horn preparation.

Rhino horn = Third World Viagra = the Horn
Reply:It%26#039;s a myth, but not enough has been done to debunk it. So, rhinos keep getting killed
Reply:Why are you bothered?
