Where did the modern image of satan(red,3 pronged pitchfork, horns, tail etc..) originate?

It is interesting to note that this particular description of satan only came about in the new testament.

With the expansion of christianity, in an attempt to covert other faiths, they try to turn the Gods of old into the devils of the new. A prime example is the way the catholics in their expansionists stage perverted the %26#039;Great God Pan%26#039;.

I find this to be one of the lowest points of the church, and a cheap way of trying to discredit other valid religions.

Where did the modern image of satan(red,3 pronged pitchfork, horns, tail etc..) originate?
The Christians took the image of the horned god or the green god and made him into the mythical extreme badness. It is from old pagan religion, predating Christianity.
Reply:Warner Brothers Cartoon studio in 1954.
Reply:The modern image of satan comes from old pagan beliefs. Before Christians invaded this world, people believed in a goddess and other divine beings. One of them was a ram and was the god of fertility. When the Christians tried to impose their beliefs on people, they used symbols that they knew and turned them around to make them evil. And so the ram and its horns became a horny devil...
Reply:Satan as the epitome of %26quot;evil%26quot; who is responsible for all the ills of mankind and the world. So you may say it%26#039;s a mind-originated portrait of satan that we see now-a-days.
