How can i last longer with my marching baritone at horns up (playing position) in marching band?

hi im chris im recently in marching band i play the baritone horn i barely started with a marching baritone and i have trouble holding it out at attention after a while and holding it at horns up(playing position) up 10 degrees because my arms feel the burn

How can i last longer with my marching baritone at horns up (playing position) in marching band?
There isn't much you can do but practice. You are using muscles in your arms that you don't usually use, so they get sore faster. Most bandos feel the burn after a day or so of camp.





On your off days, get some ankle weights and put on your wrists. Hold your arms up at horns up for as long as you can without hurting yourself. That's how I beefed up to get ready for drum majoring. After a week or so I could hold my arms up for 30 mins or so.





After awhile, those muscles will get stronger, and you'll be able to stand there like a statue for 20 minutes if you have to.





Either way, rock out on that baritone dude....rock out.
