When does the reindeer changes his horns?

Antlers fall off in the winter and start regrowing soon after in the early spring. They are covered in skin called velvet as they grow until fall. When the antlers reach full growth the skin dies and the deer rub it off against trees and such. The antlers are then used in combat for females during the rut in late fall. Then the process starts over.

Horns do knot fall off and grow the entire life of the animal
