This is the time of year bucks drop their horns. The breeding season is over, rut starts in the fall, and they will begin growing new ones later this spring into summer. If you are "shed hunting", this is the best time to do it before the leaves begin growing making it hard to see them and the rodents chewing on them for the calcium.
