Question about animal horns?
No, they dont. Unless you are dehoring the animal. the horn is like our fingernails, its made of keratin aswell. so when it grows away from the head it is essentially "dead". I have performed a dehorning, and seen when if you get too close, the wound will bleed, they say its slightly uncomfortable for the animal but the main thing to worry about is infection, which is where you would give them a dose of antibiotics. (i am in australia so we dont have things like skrew worm and burrowing insects like this, but if your country does, then that would present a problem aswell. the flie lays eggs in the wound which hatch into maggots and burrow into the flesh--%26gt; not pretty) Hope this helps
Reply:Yes, I know it does on cattle, and the blood will squirt.
