Do cows have horns, or is it just bulls who have horns?

Will you get a shock if you try to milk a cow with horns??

We breed Holstein Friesians heifers and they are dehorned when young calves, usually 3-4 weeks old. They are given an anaesthetic and then the horns are cauterised. This stops them growing and they are done at such a young age as the horns are not yet connected to the skull which minimises discomfort afterwards.

Generally, stick to milking something with an udder.
