What meaty parts of the cow is it common for U.S. and Canadian butchers to throw away? (not hide or horns)?

the meaty parts would probably be the legs and the upper arm muscles. Another part is the head they dont want to take the risk in having eyes or something in the meat.

Sorry. They use every part of the body,accept the %26quot;squeel.%26quot;

They even use the cow%26#039;s hoof%26#039;s to make your %26quot;jello.%26quot; %26lt;}:-})
Reply:Well, it%26#039;s mostly all the parts that are not good to eat.
Reply:you should be a shamed of your self to even ask that question. thats so mean and cruel. i know they do that but do we have to laugh about it faisal b. they have lifes too and they deserve to live that life. im so f***** mad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
Reply:ummm.... their dic*s.
Reply:the tail is a delicacy in many countries, but you filthy americans waste everything and steal oil
Reply:By law now, because of BSE, the spinal cord and brains of cows are not used in human food, and not permitted in animal feeds for cows. But few meaty parts of the carcass are truly %26quot;thrown away.%26quot; Most fat and meat trim, and a lot of bone and cartilage, will be diverted to sausage, hot dogs, lunch meat, and even dog food. Beef protein and fat is just too0 valuable, and has too many easy uses, to discard.
Reply:I doubt any of the past of the cow ia tossed, if it is not for for human cunsumpsion it would be sold off and used in dog food.

Thats just my guess anyway
