What has happened to the cattle on our farms they have no horns? Why is this?
Cattle without horns are called polled. Several breeds (such as Black Angus) are naturally polled. Other breeds can have polled or horned cattle (Hereford for exmaple). There are also other breeds that a pretty much always horned (Texas Longhorn). You can also dehorn cattle when they are calves.

Most cattle are dehorned due to problems with horns in feedlots and milking parlors. However, cattle with horns are very aware of their horns, but the only problem is they try to use them as defense or to fight other cattle.
Reply:because they%26#039;re not horny lol
Reply:Some cows are steers and other cows are dairy cows.
Reply:horns can be quite nasty weapons in cattle, that%26#039;s what nature intended them for. so for the safety of those around the cattle, be they human or bovine, they are dehorned when they%26#039;re between one and two weeks old. the horn buds are cauterised, thus preventing the horns from gowing. there is also an increasing number of hornless breeds.
Reply:who knows? who cares!!
Reply:It is a genetic mutation. They are called polled because they are naturally hornless.
Reply:Why not give them Viagra?
Reply:shouldn%26#039;t this be in the polls category?
